idol aura

late night post based on my late night thoughts, which probably doesn't make any sense at all but i'm still gonna blog about it. gonna keep it short tho, cuz i'm lazy to blog a long post. (although we'll see later whether this post ends up long or short.. lol)

so yup. idols and their aura. all idols have their own individual aura, which attracts some of us and stuffs. so far, only two people in my life were able to make a HUGE impact on me through their auras - the wonderful Jeanette Aw, and the awesome Watanabe Mayu.

i'm pretty much done with channel 8 artistes and mediacorp (still not done with Jeanette, i still love her to bits!!). not that the artistes are at fault, i just lost interest in mediacorp and channel 8 stuffs. partly due to me taking a break from 9pm dramas last year to focus on O's, and partly cuz i've switched over to the Japanese entertainment sector.

since i'm leaning towards the Japanese side more, i got to explore a lot about idols and of course, the really awesome idol groups produced by Aki-P: AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48 and Nogizaka46. currently following akb and hkt actively, but interested in nmb and nogi. of course.. in each group, there are different type of girls, and in groups like these where there are plenty of members, there has to be not one, but a couple of girls who caught my attention! (current member count: only akb has crossed the 100 members mark, hkt currently has like only 47? 48? members. pretty sure ske and nmb are around the 50-60 range, cmiiw) (off topic but omg now 50 members are like a normal thing to me when more than a year ago i'd be turned off by it)

and of course, the one who has made the biggest impact on my life (let's not bring mediacorp into this, just within the 48/46 groups).. is the wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous, cute, dorky, adorable and lovely (+ all other similar adjectives)

WATANABE MAYU
渡辺麻友

^ mayu why are you so adorable

i think i've made way enough blog posts about her, but i wanna mention something that has been lingering in my mind for ages. every single time she stars in a drama, be it a TV drama or a drama version of AKB's MVs, the aura she gives out is REALLY SIMILAR (!!!!!!) to Jeanette!!! this is definitely something good, because no one that i've liked was able to do this.

and i'll stop before i ramble on and on about how cute and dorky and gorgeous and beautiful and yes you know what i mean so yes i'll stop here.

main point is, in groups where more than one member can catch your attention, i definitely have a couple of other oshimens whom i support actively, but definitely not as much as how i support mayu.

and the one girl who has potential to be the next girl i'll support as much as mayu (after mayu graduates, of course), is..

MUKAICHI MION
向井地美音

i admit, Mion wasn't on my radar until recently. and when i decided to keep notice of her, she shot up my rankings like mad. from probably the bottom of my oshi list right up to #2, even 'defeating' girls like Naachan and Yukirin who have been on the top of my list since 2013. And she definitely has the potential to be my next kami-oshi after Mayu graduates.

(and you cannot resist her cuteness! video of the above screencap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBYImeugsNQ)

and of course other than my top 2, many many members have caught my eye, such as..

KASHIWAGI YUKI
柏木由紀

yukirin is just pure awesome. you could arguably say she's one of the best singers in AKB. her voice, the emotions in her songs - it's just all perfect. i can't emphasize more. combine that with her singing mostly ballads, it really blows me off. i have her 3rd solo live on my laptop, but haven't had the chance to watch it yet. definitely looking forward.

KAWAMOTO SAYA
川本紗矢

have been keeping my eye on Saya ever since she debuted in the Draft. again, something about her made me feel like supporting her, and i'm VERY happy she's in senbatsu for Kibouteki Refrain. you go, girl!

INO MIYABI
飯野雅

i don't know, something about Miyabi really won me over. even though she debuted in May/June 2014 and performed in the theater only a couple of times as an under, i found myself supporting her even more strongly than i expected. congratulations on your promotion to Team A!

and from HKT, one member whom i never expected i'd support this much, became my HKT Oshi.. and that is none other than

HOKAZONO HAZUKI
外薗葉月

the reason why i said unexpected was because, at that time i was following 2 members even more actively, Sakura and Meru. i liked both of them equally for months, and could never decide on a HKT oshi, so i decided not to have one and just oshi the both of them. and one day, this cute lil girl just came into my life and suddenly boom she became my oshi. i don't know what, how or why, but i guess it's just her aura. i really like how she's always smiling, i admire her dance skills, and i love her unique fashion. i'm glad to have found her!

speaking about Sakura and Meru, they're my 2nd and 3rd respectively in HKT.

MIYAWAKI SAKURA
宮脇咲良

sakura has really grown a lot, not just her looks (from looking like a small kid to someone mature-looking) but everything. i'm really looking forward to seeing how she will fare in the sousenkyo next year, after she successfully broke into senbatsu at a whopping #11 position. i can't spare votes for her (mayu is my priority, aiming for a consecutive #1 win!), but will definitely be supporting her from within my heart.

TASHIMA MERU
田島芽瑠

meru.. she's just awesome, really. i have no idea why she's my #3 in HKT, it's something undescribable, haha.

and moving on to a group which i've started following, Nogizaka46, the named rival group to AKB. (but produced by the same guy, and they have kennin members, so it isn't 100% a rival group, so as to speak)

the trigger for me to start following another idol group was their 9th single, Natsu no Free & Easy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZfMSWh58fk). i'm still on my way on discovering all the girls, but currently two members have made a strong impact, thus i'm including them here, even though it's been barely a month since i've started liking them.

first up, the center of their 9th single, Natsu no Free & Easy,

NISHINO NANASE
西野七瀬

something about her just clicks with me. definitely keeping my eye on her while i watch old episodes of Nogi's variety shows, NOGIBINGO! and Nogizakatte, Doko.

and not forgetting,

MATSUMURA SAYURI
松村沙友里

even though Nanase is the one i support the most in Nogi currently, Sayurin is the one whom caught my eye first, in 2013 when i just became an akb fan, way before i even knew the details about akb's system. and it's all thanks to Mayu's drama, Sabadol.

(i still support Sayurin, even though things are looking bad right now due to her scandal. no matter what, i will never stop supporting her just because of something like this. whether or not she's telling the truth, no one knows, but my faith in her won't waver. she's 22, and moreover, her personal life is not for us to criticise.)

and i guess that concludes the list of girls in the 48/46 groups who have made an impact on me! i've excluded a lot of girls, because the impact wasn't as strong as these girls, that i've listed, made. but special mention to them:

AKB:
Okada Nana, Kuranoo Narumi, Kato Rena, Omori Miyu, Shimazaki Haruka, Tatsuya Makiho, Kawaei Rina, Takahashi Minami, Oshima Ryoka, Iwatate Saho, Iriyama Anna, Takahashi Ayane, Murayama Yuiri, Shinozaki Ayana, Tani Yuri, Takahashi Juri, Owada Nana, Yokoshima Aeri, Sato Akari, Tanikawa Hijiri

NMB:
Shiroma Miru, Shibuya Nagisa, Yagura Fuuko

HKT:
Kurihara Sae, Fuchigami Mai, Kojina Yui, Okada Kanna, Tomonaga Mio, Yabuki Nako, Tanaka Miku

Nogi (in this case, girls who have caught my eye, not much of an impact yet):
Kawamura Mahiro, Akimoto Manatsu, Shiraishi Mai, Sakurai Reika, Hoshino Minami, Ito Marika, Ikoma Rina

it's amazing how normal girls like them are able to polish their idol aura over the course of their job. i really love the Japanese concept of letting fans see the growth of their favourite idols by having them debut just after months of training (mind you, they are normal teens who don't neccessarily have any experience. they will still be very, very raw and unpolished after a couple months of training). And we can appreciate the hard work they've put in, in everything they do. seeing your favourite idol grow from a normal middle/high school kid to an idol who shines in everything they do is the best. this is probably why i love Japanese idol groups.

//i also support smaller idol groups, such as G.E.M., Doll☆Elements, 愛乙女☆DOLL//

//pls feel free to intro me other idol groups because i'm always on the lookout!//
