my journey with Jeanette ♥

6 years have passed since i started liking Jeanette. well, you definitely wouldn't know the exact date when you started "falling in love" (to put it in that sense) with someone, but the time i discovered i liked Jeanette should be around end Jan - end Apr 2009. when i was very young, like 13 or so, i insisted to myself that i started liking Jeanette on 25th January 2009, for the sake of counting the exact number of days i've became a fan HAHAHA. i have no idea why 25th January.

i strongly remember the reason that made me a Jeanette fan though - one very memorable scene in The Little Nyonya. till today, that scene remains etched in my mind clearly. and i remember watching that scene on The Little Nyonya's DVD, which was around end Jan to early Feb. later, in Apr, during Star Awards, i realised i was rooting for Jeanette to clinch Best Actress subconsciously. i remember talking to mx on the phone and she was like 'i don't like her (Jeanette)' and i felt conflicted because i had some kind of positive feeling towards Jeanette LOL. i've never revealed this before but i'm doing it today. and that was the start of my journey with Jeanette.

and so, i spent the rest of the year getting to know Jeanette. and man, i was one really crazy fan back then. i bought a notebook, dedicated it to Jeanette, and started writing random stuffs on it. stuffs like her profile that i found while googling. it was a very long profile, about 2 pages long. and i pasted random newspapers/magazines cuttings. and some other embarrassing stuffs that i'd prefer to let only myself know HAHA. i even brought that notebook to school, read it over and over again.

i also did crazy stuffs like recording the number of likes Jeanette has on her facebook page, ever since she created it. (i was the 262nd btw HAHA) 

fun fact: she has 1,018,528 likes now hehe

 

towards the end of 2009, Jeanius started their very own website. and from there, my love towards Jeanette grew stronger since i could know Jeanette's news and stuffs on a regular basis.

in 2010, i was a really, really crazy fan. if you think i'm crazy now (over Mayu), you definitely don't know what "crazy" really means in my dictionary. well.. i don't remember much because everything is so blur in my mind. i do know i created fanpages on facebook, fan sites, fan accounts, etc. and i was really defensive and would do really crazy stuffs to haters. there's this incident where i don't remember the details, but it seems like i was really overboard. i went back to view the hate account last year and apparently the person threatened to report me to my school (since i had those info on my profile) and all. i don't remember anything though. i couldn't find my comments anymore either, so they were probably deleted. but it was so serious till the extent of notifying my school LOL. (luckily they didn't)

i started knowing a couple of Jeanette fans through fb in mid 2010. and she was in Jeanius, so i started wanting to join. but my mum didn't allow, because of studies & all. well i was an immature 13 year old then so i really hated that and kept begging & crying and all. but the answer remained the same HAHAHA.

in Aug, I FINALLY MET JEANETTE. well i did meet her once in 2009 but at that time i wasn't very crazy and i didn't even know it was Jeanette.. i was just passing by the event and Jeanette so happened to be there, so i wouldn't count that as meeting her. but anyway, YES I MET JEANETTE!

i.. eventually joined Jeanius secretly in Nov 2010 lol. but it was useless actually, because i couldn't tell my mum i'll be going for Jeanette events, so i didn't even attend any HAHAHA. i wanted to go for Jeanette's 10th year anniversary gathering in the same month, and i tried lying to my mum that i'll be going to my friend's house but she still didn't allow HAHAHAH.

in Dec 2010, i wanted to go for Breakout's roadshow so badly that i kept begging & crying non-stop. literally. i just sat on the floor beside my mum crying non-stop LOL. but she didn't allow me in the end HAHAHA. my friend who lived near the roadshow place offered to go and get the breakout calendar for me (they were giving out calendars). she wasn't even a fan of Jeanette!! and she travelled all the way from the west to the east to pass me the calendar. thinking back, she really did a lot for me wow. i definitely wasn't appreciative enough back then though.

but i had the best end to 2010 & the best start to 2011!!! my mum allowed me to go for a countdown event nearby and Jeanette was going!! i didn't go as Jeanius though, because my mum was following and i couldn't let her find out HAHA. my 2nd time meeting her!!!!!!!!!

i was really, really, really happy to be able to meet her again. i don't have any pictures, because i took videos instead. i sat behind Jeanius (& behind my friend, who was in Jeanius) and it felt good being able to feel the atmosphere HAHAHA.

in 2011, things remained the same. i was still equally crazy over Jeanette. but in Oct/Nov, because of my good results, my mum offered me 4 choices: an iPod, iPad, iPhone or to join Jeanius. i chose Jeanius obviously. HAHAAHHA and that was the start of my journey in Jeanius!

and in Dec, I WENT FOR A GATHERING WITH JEANETTE!!!!!!!! (3 years later i can still feel the excitement hahahaha)

ahh good times indeed.

hmm. in 2012 things started becoming a little different. maybe it was me becoming SLIGHTLY - just slightly - more mature, in the sense that i wasn't as crazy as before. but my love and support towards her remained. just.. less crazy.

and i managed to attend her book signing event!!! it was a tough "fight" though. the event was on a saturday and i had tuitions on saturdays. i had to beg my mum like mad and it involved tears. but this event wasn't just any event though, it was an event to commemorate the launch of her FIRST book. this moment will never return so it was a really special event. my mum eventually relented and yeah.

but i later went back to tuition after the event LOL. sad life, i had 2 tuitions on that day. skipped one but had to go for the other HAHAHA. (it felt good wearing Jeanius' club tee to tuition hehe)

hmm what else.. oh and i managed to meet her at another event again! i really treasure all these events because at that time, events were mostly on saturdays (when i had tuitions) so i wasn't able to make it to many events, even though my mum already allowed me to join Jeanius. so meeting her was rare. in July, SK Jewelry event!

then 2013 came. it was a life-changing year.. in a couple of aspects. i'll keep this for later since i'm trying to blog this chronologically hehe!

in Mar/Apr, I FILMED WITH JEANETTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for the drama The Dream Makers!!!!
i was actually visible on TV oh my god. i was actually recognised by my classmate the day after HAHAHAHAHA.

so yeah. Jeanette's role in that drama was an actress, and they got Jeanette's fanclub members to act as  fans of the role Jeanette's playing. hehehehehehehhee
ever since i started liking Jeanette, i've always had a liking towards the entertainment industry. i've always wanted to see drama productions and all. it was also my dream to be able to take part in a drama production some way or another. and being able to act as an extra realised my dream! and after filming, we went for lunch with Jeanette!!! yes i actually dined with Jeanette before hehehehe. well not really "dined with" since we sat at different tables but the meaning is still there ♥

in May, managed to send Jeanette off at the airport!!!! it was on my last day of school, but i had to collect report book & all on that day. i barely made it in time to send her off. i had to resort to taking a taxi from school right after i collected my report book hahaha. i even went there in half-uniform, but luckily i had time to change from school skirt to shorts once i reached the airport! but anyway, it was really really rushed. there were no empty taxis and empty ones didn't wanna stop for me?!?!  but i made it eventually so all's safe. i also got my 2nd individual photo with Jeanette. ♥

ANDDDDDDD IN JUNE. eventful month.
first off, The Dream Makers masquerade party! this was a event i actually considered NOT going, because the dress code was not-casual and at that time i don't wear dresses and all. i had NO dresses and NO skirts (lol big difference compared to now). in fact, the last time i wore a dress was when i was a child. so yeah i had my dress comeback thanks to this event HAHA. i'm glad i went though, it was fun. Jeanette also made tiramisu for us!!!! when i wasn't allowed to go events and all, i've always read about Jeanette baking goodies and all and finally i could try it!!

next, a life-changing event. i'm gonna bring something not related to Jeanette into the picture. and that is AKB. ♥
hahahaha so yeah i actually had free tickets to stylexstyle! Jeanette was going, but initially we weren't given free tickets and tickets were $200 or something, so we weren't told to go. (i'm sure Jeanette understands) but later things changed and we were given free tickets!! and.. yes akb was attending as well. this was the event that sparked off my interest in akb. (i've blogged about this before so won't do it again)

i wasn't very excited when i blogged about this back in june because well i wasn't even a fan of akb HAAHAHAHA. blog post here

i was really far (free tickets afterall) but Jeanette is in this pic HAHAH

and the next day, i met Jeanette again. (YES 2 EVENTS IN 2 CONSECUTIVE DAYS.) because the stylexstyle event ended really late, at midnight, and i had to wake up early for this event, i only slept like 3hrs or something?? totally like some artiste's schedule lol (finishing "work" late but needed to wake up early the next day for "work" again).

meeting Jeanette 2 days in a row was really great! gave Jeanette a surprise birthday celebration as well!

fast forward to november. i'm glad Jeanette didn't have any events from June to Nov. i could concentrate on Os properly and stuffs. and in nov, met her again!! also got my 3rd individual shot with her!

and i got to celebrate countdown with Jeanette once again!! this time it involved 2 places though, Jeanette was performing at marina bay & jurong. so basically we queued from morning just to watch Jeanette's performance at marina bay before running (LITERALLY) to catch transport to go jurong. some really fond memories spent as a Jeanette fan ♥ but the view i had at marina bay was so bad that i could barely see Jeanette performing lol.

and in Feb, got to attend another gathering with Jeanette!!
although it's been years since i've become a fan, this was only the 2nd gathering i've attended.. lol. the event was great and seeing Jeanette laugh really made my day!!!

and in Apr.. i could finally attend Star Awards!!!!!!! year after year i had to watch it on tv sadly because i wasn't allowed to go (tuitions, school on the next day, etc) but FINALLY I COULD GO!!! and my first SA was kind of the best SA ever. Jeanette made a huge turnabout and won Ruien in the online voting categories, and although she didn't win Best Actress, i had the chance to listen to what she said to us privately in person after the event. and we had a post-SA celebration in private which was great. i love spending such private times like these with Jeanette.

and in June i think, sent Jeanette off again!!! didn't need to rush now HAHAHA. short but valuable time spent with her. :)

and met Jeanette again for a drama roadshow in Nov!!! although i've been to plenty of events i still treasure moments like these.

(my first "skin" contact with someone popular isn't Mayu, but Jeanette hahahha)

i forgot how to smile. i'm serious. when it was my turn i literally forgot how to smile lol

well i was supposed to go for a gathering with Jeanette in Dec, but suddenly akb announced makeup dates for their 2shot event which clashed with the gathering date, so i made the decision to forgo the gathering. it was a rare opportunity alright!!!! who knows when i'll be back in Japan (but i'll always be in SG, so i'll meet Jeanette again).

and once again, celebrated countdown with Jeanette ♥ thankfully, she's only performing at 1 location so goodbye to all the rushing and whatnot.

and that's it, for now.
my journey with Jeanette will definitely continue. no events yet for this year, but i'll wait patiently. let's meet again Jeanette ♥

so apparently my blogpost started off being really wordy and ended off with lots of pictures. well..
even though my current obsession is Mayu, my love and support towards Jeanette is still the same. you can say Jeanette and Mayu share the #1 position in my heart. they're both in different industries anyway so it's fine hehe. (we'll see again when Mayu graduates and becomes an actress HAHHAHA oops) i almost sent 'Jeanette' instead of 'Mayu' while chatting with a Mayu fan, so Jeanette still holds an important position in my heart alright!

on a serious note, i'm really blessed to discover a gem like Jeanette. I was 12 (well technically 11 since my birthday wasn't over yet) when i discovered her, and now i'm turning 18. i was able to spend the most eventful "growing-up-years" with Jeanette. and technically.. Jeanette watched me grow up. in some ways. see you soon Jeanette!
