ramblings

Random ramblings.

I was reading some articles regarding Mayu's new drama.

And I can't help but feel this is a really good experience for Mayu. Coming from an ex-drama fan, the stuffs I read in those articles are something I usually come across from various actors. I fully understand the circumstances. And to imagine Mayu, this precious little kid, experiencing things like this, I really feel like she'll grow a lot and her acting skills will definitely be polished.

All her previous dramas were dramas related to AKB in a way or another. I'm sure the environment in those dramas were less harsh than reality. So, although Mayu has had acting experiences, this is her first "real" drama, to put it in this way. It is only through this that she can fully experience the true toughness in filming, and hopefully from this, she will be able to polish herself even further.

I'm really appreciative of this opportunity Mayu has been given. Seeing her proceed a step closer to her dream makes me touched. And I believe this is her stepping stone into the "real world", free from the protected environment in AKB.

I have big expectations of Mayu, and I'm 100% sure she won't fail them. I look forward to seeing Mayu succeed and making a name for herself out there in the future. And it'll be "Actress, Watanabe Mayu", not "Watanabe Mayu (AKB48)" anymore.

I'll admit, I can't bear to see the Idol Mayu evolve into Actress Mayu. But it's a necessity. Mayu knows it herself too. As much as she (and her fans) wants to be an idol forever, it's impossible. I'll be disappointed, of course, because I won't be able to meet Mayu as easily anymore. But if it's for Mayu's happiness, I'll gladly accept this fact.
