What exactly are the things that matter? Is it having tons of friends, having a crazy and wild ride in school or having an extraordinary 18th birthday celebration?
For me, none of the above. Cliche, but a few close friends are a million times better than a wide circle of friends. Sure, you may be less lonely and are more likely to not spend time alone. But is it all that important?
2015. The year i turn 18. Eighteen - a big number with a great importance placed on it. It's deeply etched into society's mindset that one's 18th birthday must be a blast. But is it really necessary? I rather spend the time together with those i really care for. It may be a simple celebration, but it'll definitely be a meaningful one.
Really, what are the important things in life? Are we just being led around blindly by our noses, being influenced by our environment? 10 years down the road, will we treasure the things we do now as much? I doubt so.
